Sponsor Acceptance Policy
Our first job is to be useful and trustworthy to churches. This policy explains which sponsors we accept and how we keep sponsorship separate from our advice.
Who we accept
- Insurers that serve churches and ministries.
- Established church software companies.
- Church legal, accounting, and finance resources.
- AI tools that publish clear data practices, including what data they collect, whether customer content is used to train models, and how to delete data.
Who we decline
- Products we cannot verify, or companies with unresolved, credible public concerns about how they treat customers or data.
- AI tools that train on customer content without clear consent, or will not explain their data practices.
- Political campaigns and political advocacy.
- Payday lending, gambling, crypto investment offers, and get-rich-quick offers.
- Any offer that could put churches, staff, children, or vulnerable people at risk.
How we review sponsors
Before accepting a sponsor, we read their public terms and privacy policy and check that their product works as described. We may decline any sponsor for any reason, and we may end a sponsorship if a sponsor no longer meets this policy.
Labels
Every sponsored item is labeled "Sponsored by" followed by the name of the sponsor, placed next to the sponsored item, on the site and in the newsletter. Sponsor links use rel="sponsored". We follow the Federal Trade Commission guidance on clearly disclosing paid endorsements and advertising (Source: FTC, FTC's Endorsement Guides: What People Are Asking).
Independence
- The policy builder, its output, and the policy library carry no sponsorship and are never for sale.
- Sponsors cannot pay to be included in, excluded from, or favored in any guide, list, or recommendation.
- Sponsors do not review or approve our content before or after it is published.
- If a guide mentions a sponsor's product, we say so in the guide.
Your data
We never sell, rent, or share subscriber emails or reader data with sponsors. Sponsors may receive only aggregate results, such as how many times their link was clicked. See our privacy policy.
